Mom & Me: Story Telling:
Storytelling infuses a message with “Meaning” and “Emotion”; it is a universal and a traditional art form that has featured strongly in moulding an effective communication tool. It can be used to inform, entertain and educate. It is often used as a medium to ingrain values, improving reading skills and open the minds of the children to world’s beyond imagination.
“MOM and ME” a story-telling event was thus organized by the pre-primary children along with their mothers here in on 21st February.
Children were really interested and engrossed in the stories where life and expression were in abundance, this was creamed with the touch of their mothers wherein they were divided in 7 groups. Listening with rapt attention, they were exposed to the basics of theatrical movements, voice modulation and the rhythm of storytelling, these factors introduced children to new horizons of storytelling. It was an interactive session where children enacted alongside their mothers and narrated the stories. There was unique warmth in the way children and mothers narrated the stories which mostly revolved around Fruits, Vegetables, Trees and Birds.
Overall this session helped the young souls for creative thinking and wove a colourful and personal experience together with facts and persuasion.
